{"id":3019,"date":"2023-01-08T14:32:59","date_gmt":"2023-01-08T14:32:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=3019"},"modified":"2023-01-08T14:33:01","modified_gmt":"2023-01-08T14:33:01","slug":"u-s-department-of-energy-rejects-initial-bids-to-resupply-oil-stockpile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/3019\/","title":{"rendered":"U.S. Department of Energy rejects initial bids to resupply oil stockpile"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>The U.S. Department of Energy has rejected the first batch of bids from oil companies to resupply a small amount of oil to the nation\u2019s emergency crude oil stockpile in February, according to a DOE spokesperson.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The DOE last month had said it would purchase up to 3 million barrels for delivery to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in February, the first buy since last year\u2019s record 180-million-barrel release to tame U.S. pump prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFollowing review of the initial submission, DOE will not be making any award selections for the February delivery window,\u201d the spokesperson said in an emailed statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDOE will only select bids that meet the required crude specifications and that are at a price that is a good deal for taxpayers,\u201d the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Details about the submissions were not available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Joe Biden had announced the 180 million barrel sale in late March to combat surging gasoline prices after the February invasion of Ukraine by Russia, the world\u2019s largest exporter of fossil fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That sale shrunk levels in the SPR to the lowest since 1984.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The administration has said it wants to repurchase the oil at around $70 a barrel.<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-date no-social-btn post-updated\">Updated on<time class=\"updated dt-updated\" itemprop=\"dateModified\" datetime=\"2023-01-08T14:33:01+00:00\"> 8 January 2023<\/time><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The U.S. Department of Energy has rejected the first batch of bids from oil companies to resupply a small amount of oil to the nation\u2019s emergency crude oil stockpile in February, according to a DOE spokesperson.
