{"id":2581,"date":"2022-12-04T16:25:14","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T16:25:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=2581"},"modified":"2022-12-04T16:25:16","modified_gmt":"2022-12-04T16:25:16","slug":"russia-not-to-accept-price-cap-imposed-by-brussels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/2581\/","title":{"rendered":"Russia not to accept price cap imposed by Brussels"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>Russia will not recognize a so-called \u2018price cap\u2019 on Russian oil which the European Union adopted this week, officials announced Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe will not accept this ceiling,\u201d Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained Saturday, adding that the Russian government is currently \u201canalyzing\u201d the situation and \u201cwill provide further information\u201d on its response after a review process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On Friday, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen declared that the EU would be imposing a \u201cglobal price cap on seaborne oil from Russia\u201d of $60\/barrel. Under the scheme, insurers and brokers who service oil tankers which ship Russian fuel exceeding the price limit determined by Brussels would risk being sanctioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe EU agreement on an oil price cap\u2026 will reduce Russia\u2019s revenues significantly,\u201d she claimed in a speech on Friday, before insisting that the move would also \u201chelp stabilize global energy prices, benefitting emerging economies around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite what they characterized as an effort to manipulate \u201cthe basic principles of free markets,\u201d the Russian Embassy in Washington wrote in a statement on Saturday that they are \u201cconfident that Russian oil will continue to be in demand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Western economies may not be so lucky, Russian officials suggested, Sputnik reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStarting from this year Europe will live without Russian oil,\u201d wrote Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia\u2019s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna. \u201cMoscow has already made it clear that it will NOT supply oil to those countries who support [the] anti-market price cap.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"post-date no-social-btn post-updated\">Updated on<time class=\"updated dt-updated\" itemprop=\"dateModified\" datetime=\"2022-12-04T16:25:16+00:00\"> 4 December 2022<\/time><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Russia will not recognize a so-called \u2018price cap\u2019 on Russian oil which the European Union adopted this week, officials announced Saturday. \u201cWe will not accept this ceiling,\u201d Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained Saturday, adding that the Russian government is currently \u201canalyzing\u201d the situation and \u201cwill provide further information\u201d on its response after a review process.
