{"id":19210,"date":"2026-10-15T03:54:28","date_gmt":"2026-10-15T03:54:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=19210"},"modified":"2026-10-15T03:54:28","modified_gmt":"2026-10-15T03:54:28","slug":"iran-localizes-well-flow-control-equipment-for-khanegiran-and-tous-gas-fields","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/19210\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran Localizes Well-Flow Control Equipment for Khanegiran and Tous Gas Fields"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"pre-content-text\"><a style=\"color: #0038a8;\" href=\"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/\">RoydadNaft &#8211; <\/a><\/span>\u00a0Iran has successfully designed, manufactured and commissioned a choke manifold for gas wells in the Khanegiran and Tous fields, a domestically developed system intended to improve the safety of flow operations at sour gas wells, an official at the East Oil and Gas Production Company said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Roydad Naft, citing the National Iranian Central Oil Fields Company, Behrouz Rahdari, head of the Well Technical Services Department at East Oil and Gas Production Company, said the choke manifold was designed and built by Iranian specialists to enable safe flow operations at wells without permanent process facilities.<\/p>\n<p>He said the equipment was manufactured by the company\u2019s wellhead technical services specialists after the technical drawings were prepared and approved by the company\u2019s technical affairs department and the drilling department of the National Iranian Central Oil Fields Company.<\/p>\n<p>Following successful performance and pressure tests, the equipment was certified for use at sour gas wells in the Mozduran reservoir in the Khanegiran and Tous fields, at a pressure of 5,700 psi, Rahdari said.<\/p>\n<p>The 4 1\/16-inch choke manifold underwent field testing during the commissioning of Khanegiran sour gas well No. 35. The test was attended by the company\u2019s CEO, technical and operations managers, and several department heads. The equipment was subsequently declared ready for operational use.<\/p>\n<p>Rahdari noted that the gas produced from the well contains 3.5 mol% hydrogen sulfide (H\u2082S), making safe handling particularly important. He described the successful completion of the project as a significant achievement in improving the safety of sour gas well operations and an example of leveraging domestic expertise and the technical capabilities of East Oil and Gas Production Company.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the project would not only improve operational safety and efficiency but also support domestic manufacturing, advance self-sufficiency policies, and help conserve the country\u2019s financial and foreign currency resources.<\/p>\n<p>East Oil and Gas Production Company is a subsidiary of the National Iranian Central Oil Fields Company. It operates in the Khanegiran operational area, approximately 35 kilometers from the city of Sarakhs.
