RoydadNaft – <\/a><\/span>\u00a0The head of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) said installation of the P4 processing platform at the Reshadat oil field will significantly increase Iran\u2019s offshore oil production capacity in the Persian Gulf.<\/p>\n

Ahmadreza Rasti said the approximately 6,200-ton P4 platform, one of the largest oil-processing platforms ever built in Iran, is being installed at the Reshadat field. Once completed, the project will add 35,000 barrels per day to production capacity and enable the injection of 80,000 barrels of water per day to maintain reservoir pressure and support long-term sustainable output.<\/p>\n

Rasti stated that the design, construction and installation project, which had faced delays due to sanctions, gained momentum under the current administration with support from the Oil Ministry and the National Iranian Oil Company. He said the platform will be fully installed in the coming days using the complex float-over installation method.<\/p>\n

He described the project as one of the most important offshore oil developments in the Persian Gulf. Current production from the Reshadat field stands at between 12,000 and 14,000 barrels per day, but the P4 platform is expected to substantially expand production capacity while improving reservoir management through large-scale water injection.<\/p>\n

According to Rasti, P4 is one of five key platforms in the Reshadat development program and will play a major role in increasing offshore oil production while ensuring efficient reservoir recovery.<\/p>\n

He said installation of the W0 and W4 wellhead platforms and the F4 flare platform has already been completed. With the P4 deck expected to be installed within days and the remaining components of the project, including the Q4 residential platform, scheduled for completion, IOOC expects to add 35,000 barrels per day of production capacity by the Iranian year 1406 (March 2027-March 2028).<\/p>\n

Rasti added that, together with other development and production-maintenance projects, the company\u2019s total oil production could rise to between 380,000 and 400,000 barrels per day, strengthening Iran\u2019s position as a major oil producer in the Persian Gulf.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that all stages of the P4 project \u2014 including design, engineering, fabrication and installation \u2014 were carried out by Iranian specialists without foreign assistance, highlighting the domestic oil industry\u2019s offshore engineering capabilities.<\/p>\n

The IOOC chief credited the achievement to the efforts of project personnel, contractors and Iranian oil and gas industry companies involved in the development.<\/p>\n

He also said construction of the Q4 residential platform is progressing, with installation of its jacket already completed. Final installation work is expected to take place during the first half of the current Iranian year.<\/p>\n

Looking ahead, Rasti announced plans to develop the gas section of the Reshadat field, which he said contains an estimated 4.5 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves. He invited investors to participate in the project.<\/p>\n

Located about 90 kilometers from Lavan Island in the operational area of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company, the Reshadat field has been in production since 1969. The installation of the P4 platform is expected to mark a new phase in the development of one of Iran\u2019s key offshore oil assets.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
