The contract had fallen 2.84% in the previous trading session.

U.S. WTI crude oil futures reached $92.48 per barrel, down 56 cents or 0.6%. The contract had dropped 3.1% on Thursday.

Both contracts are on track to record their first weekly gain in three weeks, with WTI rising more than 6%. OPEC Secretary-General Haitham al-Ghais announced this on Thursday, even as fighting continues in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.

Iran’s oil exports have fallen to their lowest level in six years, primarily due to the U.S. naval blockade, although weak demand in China has also put pressure on oil prices.

Updated on 5 June 2026

Brent crude oil futures fell by 24 cents, or 0.25%, to $94.79 per barrel.
