{"id":17023,"date":"2026-04-08T07:40:31","date_gmt":"2026-04-08T07:40:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=17023"},"modified":"2026-04-08T07:40:31","modified_gmt":"2026-04-08T07:40:31","slug":"chinese-independent-refineries-rush-to-buy-iranian-oil-after-ceasefire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/17023\/","title":{"rendered":"Chinese Independent Refineries Rush to Buy Iranian Oil After Ceasefire"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\"><p><span class=\"pre-content-text\"><a style=\"color: #0038a8;\" href=\"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/\">RoydadNaft &#8211; <\/a><\/span>\u00a0Iranian oil has become an attractive option for China\u2019s independent \u201cTeapot\u201d refineries following the ceasefire agreement, as they seek immediate cargoes of Iranian crude.<\/p>\n<p>According to Roydad Naft, citing Reuters, three trade sources confirmed that several independent Chinese refineries (known as Teapots), which recently received new crude import quotas from Beijing, are now actively looking for prompt shipments of Iranian crude oil after Wednesday\u2019s sharp drop in oil prices.<\/p>\n<p>Brent crude fell below $100 per barrel on Wednesday \u2014 its lowest level since March 11 \u2014 following U.S. President Donald Trump\u2019s announcement of a two-week ceasefire with Iran, conditional on the immediate and safe reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.<\/p>\n<p>Market Reaction and Pricing<\/p>\n<p>One trader close to Iranian oil trading said: \u201cThere were multiple price inquiries this morning because Brent has dropped into the $90 range.\u201d However, another trader noted that while inquiries have been made, only limited deals have been concluded so far, as current prices remain significantly higher than pre-war levels.<\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s New Import Quotas<\/p>\n<p>On Friday, April 3, China allocated new crude import quotas of approximately 55 million tons (equivalent to 401.5 million barrels) to its independent refineries to encourage higher production.
