In our discussions with India, we\u2019ve secured their commitment to stop buying additional Russian oil,\u201d Rubio told attendees at the Munich Security Conference on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>His comments come as Washington ramps up pressure to reduce Moscow\u2019s energy revenues amid the ongoing war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>At the same conference, India\u2019s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar pushed back by emphasizing the country\u2019s longstanding commitment to strategic autonomy when asked whether closer trade ties with the US might affect New Delhi\u2019s crude oil sourcing choices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe remain deeply committed to strategic autonomy\u2014it\u2019s woven into our history, our evolution, and it enjoys broad support across the political spectrum,\u201d Jaishankar said.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding energy decisions, he described the global oil market as highly complex and dynamic, with buyers\u2014including Indian oil companies\u2014guided primarily by commercial considerations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn today\u2019s energy landscape, it\u2019s a complicated market.
