While the exact volume has not been disclosed, he estimated potential imports at around 10 million barrels annually.<\/p>\n<p>Official data released last week by India\u2019s Ministry of Commerce and Industry showed that New Delhi imported a crude shipment worth $111 million from Iran.<\/p>\n<p>Between January and July 2025, India\u2019s purchases of Iranian petroleum products reached $94 million, bringing the total value of crude and refined product imports from Iran to $205 million\u2014equivalent to 54 percent of Iran\u2019s total exports to India during the period.<\/p>\n<p>Bloomberg reported two weeks ago that Indian officials told the Trump administration they could only significantly scale back oil imports from Russia if Washington allowed purchases from other sanctioned producers, namely Iran and Venezuela.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_7820-1.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15982\" src=\"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_7820-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_7820-1.jpeg 1200w, https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_7820-1-300x200.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_7820-1-1024x683.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/IMG_7820-1-768x512.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Indian representatives argued that cutting off supplies from all three simultaneously would trigger global price spikes, as nearly 90 percent of India\u2019s oil needs are met through imports.<\/p>\n<p>India halted crude purchases from Tehran in 2018, after Washington withdrew from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and ended sanctions waivers that had allowed limited Iranian oil sales.<\/p>\n<p>The renewed purchases come despite statements by U.S. officials earlier this year.
