RoydadNaft – <\/a><\/span>\u00a0The well maintenance supervisor of the South Pars joint field announced that the installation of secondary downhole safety valves on Platform SPD16 has been successfully completed. The operation, which began on October 5, concluded two weeks later on October 18 after intensive offshore work in the Persian Gulf.<\/p>\n

According to the Pars Oil and Gas Company, Ashkan Asadi Eskandar said that before the operation began, all safety requirements and considerations were reviewed and assessed in joint meetings between the Production and Operations Management and the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Department. The aim was to ensure the continuous production of rich gas and prevent any interruptions. Gas extraction from Platform SPD16 continued throughout the operation without any shutdowns.<\/p>\n

Asadi Eskandar noted that using the platform\u2019s existing equipment with full safety provisions during the wireline operation helped accelerate the process. He added that due to limited access to MAST equipment, an alternative method was applied, which not only sped up the work but also reduced operational costs.<\/p>\n

Regarding the manufacturing and installation process of the downhole safety valves on Phase 16 of South Pars, he said the components were domestically produced in accordance with the required standards and technical specifications. After installation, the initial samples underwent repeated testing and monitoring by the Engineering, Production, and Operations teams of Pars Oil and Gas Company. The final approved valves, meeting all safety requirements, were then installed in the platform\u2019s wells.<\/p>\n

He also expressed appreciation to the company\u2019s Operations and Support Division for providing logistical and marine support and accommodation capacity for operational crews on Platform SPD16.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the completion of this operation, all wells at Platform SPD16 of the South Pars joint field are now fully compliant with RP90 procedures and NORSOK D-010 well integrity standards,\u201d Asadi Eskandar said. \u201cFollowing successful performance testing of the secondary safety valves, the wells were handed over to the Production and Operations Management as the final operator.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
