RoydadNaft – <\/a><\/span>\u00a0The managing director of the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company announced that the Sarajeh gas storage expansion project in Qom will be completed by the end of the Iranian year 1404 (March 2026), emphasizing its strategic role in ensuring stable gas supply during the cold season.<\/p>\n

According to the company, Behnam Mirzaei said the Sarajeh gas storage facility\u2019s capacity will rise to 1.5 billion cubic meters under the project\u2019s second phase, which is designed to boost storage from 1 billion to 1.5 billion cubic meters per year. The upstream section is nearing completion, and the downstream facilities are scheduled to go online by the end of 1404.<\/p>\n

Mirzaei said the project supports peak consumption periods and strengthens national energy security. \u201cThe main mission of storage projects is to balance the gas network \u2014 storing gas during normal months and injecting it into the network during the cold season,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

948 kilometers of new pipelines <\/strong><\/p>\n

Mirzaei also said 948 kilometers of new gas transmission lines will be completed by the end of 1404. \u201cA total of 3,100 kilometers of gas pipelines have been assigned to the company for execution, of which 948 kilometers will be operational by the end of 1404. So far, 155 kilometers have been commissioned, and more than 500 kilometers are over 90% complete,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He noted that several projects are active across the country, adding that major lines such as Rasht\u2013Chelvand, Nour\u2013Kelarabad, and Ardabil\u2013Chelvand are close to operation. In addition, three compressor stations with eight turbo compressor units will come online in 1404 to enhance network stability.<\/p>\n

Mirzaei stressed that the Iranian Gas Engineering and Development Company serves as the National Iranian Gas Co.\u2019s operational arm for expanding the country\u2019s gas transmission infrastructure. \u201cFrom design to execution, all projects are defined based on transmission network needs and national dispatching analyses,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
