RoydadNaft – <\/a><\/span>\u00a0The production and operations manager of Pars Oil and Gas Company announced the replacement of 32-inch main emergency shutdown valves (ESDVs) on South Pars Gas Platform No. 10 to enhance safety and production stability.<\/p>\n

According to Pars Oil and Gas Company, Alireza Sarmadi explained that after necessary assessments, equipment procurement, and feasibility studies for operations in the confined offshore platform environment, the project to replace the valves\u2014each weighing 17 tons\u2014was successfully completed.<\/p>\n

He emphasized the challenges of heavy maintenance work in tight spaces, noting that precise technical and engineering measures were taken to move and install the multi-ton emergency valves within a short timeframe. This effort minimized repair time and production disruptions while boosting operational capabilities for safe and sustainable gas production.<\/p>\n

Sarmadi added that during the project, isolation and depressurization procedures were carried out to ensure a safe environment. Defective components were removed, and pathways were cleared for equipment installation. The valves were transported by barge to the platform and installed in their designated positions.<\/p>\n

The head of health, safety, and environment (HSE) for the operations and support division detailed the safety measures during the overhaul of Platform SPD10. A total of 216 work permits were issued\u201496 for cold work, 83 for hot work, and 37 for flame-related tasks. Safety officers directly supervised the removal and replacement of two 32-inch main valves, tank inspections, welding, heavy load movements, and pipeline isolation.<\/p>\n

Ali-Mohammad Tahan highlighted safety training sessions, totaling 96 person-hours, and multiple emergency drills conducted with the overhaul team. He stated that the operations and support HSE team successfully secured the work environment for SPD10\u2019s heavy maintenance tasks.<\/p>\n

Tahan noted that the valve replacement process logged 1,438 safe work hours. Given the need to clear residual gas fluids from the pipeline, depressurization and isolation were performed alongside equipment removal\u2014all under pipeline experts\u2019 supervision. The reinstallation of new components was completed within 12 days.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
