RoydadNaft – <\/a><\/span>\u00a0The government spokesperson announced that shallow oil well drilling operations have begun along the Caspian Sea coast after nearly 30 years, praising the efforts of the Oil Ministry\u2019s staff.<\/p>\n

At a press conference in the Anzali Free Trade Zone on Tuesday, Fatemeh Mohajerani addressed economic imbalances, calling them a “deeply troubling reality that continues to worsen.”
\nShe said the government is prioritizing solar energy development and implementing strict measures to control energy consumption in state-run sectors.<\/p>\n

Mohajerani stated that, under the president\u2019s directive, public and government buildings will have their electricity cut off after solar power systems are installed. A specific timeline has been set for enforcing this measure.<\/p>\n

Referring to the 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical Exhibition, she noted that the Oil Ministry recently hosted the event, attracting 2,200 domestic and foreign companies. Given the high global interest in oil, gas, and petrochemical industries, she emphasized the need for the ministry to transparently report its achievements from the exhibition.<\/p>\n

Regarding a government-private sector agreement to replace 20,000 gasoline motorcycles with electric ones, Mohajerani said transitioning to electric vehicles is “inevitable” to reduce pollution, in line with global trends. “The world has already taken this path, yielding significant environmental benefits,” she added.<\/p>\n

Citing a Department of the Environment report, she noted that a substantial portion of Tehran\u2019s air pollution comes from outdated or inefficient motorcycles.<\/p>\n

On the government\u2019s plans to maximize the Anzali Free Trade Zone\u2019s potential, Mohajerani reiterated that shallow oil well drilling in the Caspian Sea has resumed after three decades, crediting the Oil Ministry\u2019s efforts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
