RoydadNaft – <\/a><\/span>\u00a0The CEO of Iran\u2019s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) expressed Iran\u2019s willingness to participate in the construction of petrochemical complexes in Niger and emphasized readiness to supply urea for the African nation\u2019s agricultural sector.<\/p>\n

During a meeting with Niger\u2019s Minister of Petroleum, Mahamane Sani Mahamadou, on Wednesday on the sidelines of the 7th Iran Expo exhibition, Hassan Abbaszadeh highlighted Iran\u2019s interest in expanding its presence in African markets.<\/p>\n

\u201cIran is prepared to present a long-term development plan and roadmap for Niger\u2019s petrochemical industry,\u201d Abbaszadeh said. \u201cThis planning can be based on feasibility studies considering logistical conditions and access to feedstock.\u201d<\/p>\n

Responding to Niger\u2019s request to purchase urea from Iran, Abbaszadeh noted that while Iranian petrochemical companies are privately owned, NPC serves as a regulatory body.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will arrange necessary negotiations with Persian Gulf Holding, a major urea producer in Iran, to meet your demand,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Abbaszadeh stated that Iran produces about 7 million metric tons of urea annually, with 2 million tons used domestically and the rest exported.<\/p>\n

\u201cIranian companies and experts have the capability to build a urea plant in Niger,\u201d he said. \u201cIf Niger can secure the required feedstock (ammonia) from neighboring countries or even import it from Iran, this plant could address your agricultural needs.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also proposed training Niger\u2019s workforce in Iran for roles in refining and petrochemical industries and welcomed Niger\u2019s request for Iranian involvement in building an integrated refining and petrochemical complex.<\/p>\n

\u201cIranian firms and specialists are capable of supplying the necessary equipment for such projects,\u201d Abbaszadeh added.<\/p>\n

Niger Seeks Iranian partnership in petrochemical development, urea purchase<\/p>\n

Niger\u2019s petroleum minister expressed his country\u2019s interest in collaborating with Iran on petrochemical projects and purchasing urea.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are ready to sign a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in this field,\u201d Mahamadou said.<\/p>\n

Noting Niger\u2019s agricultural sector\u2019s need for urea imports, he added: \u201cWe aim to buy urea from Iran. Since the Ministry of Agriculture is the end user, we will relay your details on volume, payment and logistics to them and coordinate with you once a decision is made.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
