{"id":13321,"date":"2025-02-15T12:33:39","date_gmt":"2025-02-15T12:33:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=13321"},"modified":"2025-02-15T12:33:39","modified_gmt":"2025-02-15T12:33:39","slug":"west-karoun-power-plant-supplies-2b-kwh-to-national-grid-west-karoun-power-plant-supplies-2b-kwh-to-national-grid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/13321\/","title":{"rendered":"West Karoun Power Plant supplies 2b kWh to national grid  West Karoun Power Plant supplies 2b kWh to national grid"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\"><p><span class=\"pre-content-text\"><a style=\"color: #0038a8;\" href=\"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/\">RoydadNaft &#8211; <\/a><\/span>\u00a0Since the summer of 2020, the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has injected more than 2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity generated by the West Karoun Power Plant into the national grid to help meet the country&#8217;s electricity demand.<\/p>\n<div class=\"item-body\">\n<div class=\"item-text\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Rahim Minaei, the project manager for the West Karoun Power Plant, stated that NIOC&#8217;s electricity consumption in the West Karoun region is approximately 100 megawatts.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He added that under a contract with MAPNA Group, NIOC pays \u20ac6 million monthly to secure the full 430-megawatt capacity of the plant, even if it does not utilize all the electricity generated.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Minaei noted that from late May to the end of October this year, about 767 million kilowatt-hours of electricity produced at the West Karoun Power Plant were fed into the national grid.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Highlighting the collaboration between NIOC and the Ministry of Energy, Minaei emphasized that NIOC has injected over 2 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity from the West Karoun Power Plant into the national grid since the summer of 2020.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This effort has played a significant role in stabilizing the electricity supply in the city of Ahvaz and Khuzestan Province, contributing to reliable energy provision in the region.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">MAPNA Group, the investor in the project, secured part of the required capital through advance electricity purchases. Prior to the plant&#8217;s commissioning, \u20ac30 million were paid to MAPNA, and the contract is guaranteed for 20 years.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The agreement to build the West Karoun Power Plant to supply electricity to the region&#8217;s oil fields was signed with MAPNA in 2016.
