RoydadNaft – <\/a><\/span>\u00a0India’s Numaligarh Refinery Ltd (NRL) does not expect its shipments of diesel to Bangladesh to be affected by political upheaval in the neighbouring country, the company said on Friday.<\/p>\n

NRL, a subsidiary of explorer Oil India, is waiting for its next diesel supply orders to come from Bangladesh, which are due in the second half of this month, Managing Director Bhaskar J Phukan said.<\/p>\n

NRL supplies 6,000-7,000 metric tons of diesel from its 60,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery in northeastern India to Bangladesh Petroleum once per month through a cross-border pipeline.<\/p>\n

“This month’s quota will be due towards the end of August. I am very confident it will be a business as usual,” Phukan told Reuters, adding that NRL had “pumped a large batch prior to the turmoil”.
\n“They are already contacting us for diesel supplies for this month,” he said.<\/p>\n

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina fled to India on Monday after weeks of deadly protests forced her to quit, and a caretaker government led by Nobel Peace laureate Muhammad Yunus was sworn in on Thursday, tasked with holding elections.<\/p>\n
