{"id":1058,"date":"2022-08-13T16:20:39","date_gmt":"2022-08-13T16:20:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/?p=1058"},"modified":"2022-08-13T16:20:42","modified_gmt":"2022-08-13T16:20:42","slug":"embassy-stolen-oil-to-return-to-iran-soon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/roydadnaft.ir\/English\/1058\/","title":{"rendered":"Embassy: Stolen Oil to Return to Iran Soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\" itemprop=\"description\">\n<p>Tehran\u2019s Embassy in Athens announced that the Iranian oil tanker and its cargo which was seized by Greece under US pressure is to head back to the country soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe operation involving transfer of Iran\u2019s stolen oil [back] to the Lana vessel is underway in Greece\u2019s waters, and the vessel will soon head [back] to the country (Iran) with its complete cargo of oil,\u201d the diplomatic mission wrote on Twitter on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back in late July,&nbsp;the Iranian Embassy in Athens confirmed that the Supreme Court in Greece had voted to uphold an appeals ruling in favor of Tehran against the seizure of an oil shipment in line with Washington\u2019s sanctions against the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Greek authorities confiscated Lana and its cargo back in April, handing over its cargo of crude to a US tanker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tehran described the seizure by Athens as an &#8220;act of piracy&#8221; that was &#8220;in violation of international standards&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response,&nbsp;the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) seized two Greek oil tankers.
